The Andrew B is a towed dredge barge that was lost on November 8th, 1995. Built in 1958, it served many years as a dredge until being purchased by the Canadian Dredge and Dock company who fitted it with drills for blasting rock. Having finished a project near Sault Ste. Marie, she was being towed to Toronto encountering rough weather along the way. When her tow line parted off Long Point, ON, she was left at the mercy of the waves, and soon rolled and sank.
Today the Andrew B lies on her side with her crane still attached to the deck. The wreck lies in 180 feet, with parts of the crane as much as 50 feet off the bottom. Visibility is often 60 feet or more.
